Appointments vs Walk-Ins 2.0

Or: Why your haircut deserves more than luck

Let me be upfront.

I run appointments.

I prefer appointments.

But if you walk in and I’ve got the space, I’m not sending you away.

It’s money. I like money.

More importantly, it’s your haircut.

What I don’t understand is why anyone would choose to rely on walk-ins when it comes to something they care about looking right.

Walk-ins rely on luck

When you walk in without an appointment, you’re rolling the dice.

You might get:

  • The barber you like

  • Enough time to do it properly

  • A calm, un-rushed cut

Or you might get:

  • Whoever’s free

  • A squeeze-in

  • A haircut done with one eye on the clock

None of that is personal.

It’s just how walk-ins work.

When a shop is busy, walk-ins don’t disappear. They get compressed.

Appointments respect your time

Booking is not about being awkward or organised.

It’s about this:

  • You arrive

  • You sit down

  • Your barber is ready for you

  • You leave when you expect to

No waiting.

No hovering.

No “how long will it be?” conversations.

Your time matters. So does ours.

Appointments make sure neither gets wasted.

Why we still accept walk-ins

Because life happens.

You finish work early.

You’re nearby.

You suddenly realise your hair looks like it’s given up.

If we can take you, we will.

But here’s the difference:

Appointments come first.

Walk-ins fit around them.

That’s not favouritism.

That’s fairness.

The person who planned their visit shouldn’t lose out to chance.

Better hair comes from better planning

A proper haircut needs:

  • Time

  • Focus

  • No pressure to rush

Appointments protect that.

When your barber knows you’re coming, the cut starts before you arrive.

That’s how consistency is built.

That’s how your hair keeps looking good after the first few days.

Final thought

Walk-ins are convenient.

Appointments are reliable.

If you care about:

  • Your time

  • Your barber

  • Your haircut lasting more than a weekend

Book ahead.

And if you walk in and we’ve got space, happy days.

But don’t leave your hair to chance.
